As a Senior Associate at our Sofia office, you'll be key in global assurance assignments related to EU funded initiatives. You'll join a dedicated team serving the European Commission, engaging in diverse and challenging projects worldwide—both on-site and remotely. This role will enhance your personal and technical skills, offering exposure to various teams and cultures, deepening your expertise in external audit and assurance, and providing ongoing practical training.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a crucial team member executing agreed-upon procedures, especially expenditure verifications of EU-funded projects, following protocols of grants, twinning, service and supply contracts, construction projects, delegation, and contribution agreements under PRAG and Twinning Manuals.

  • Document procedures methodically within a dedicated audit platform.

  • Work with audit teams, liaising with the European Commission, its Delegations, reporting entities, and other experts to deliver high-quality service.

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Adapt and thrive in an international working environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of audit experience.

  • Experience in auditing EU-funded projects or audit/verification of such projects is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  • Membership in a national or international accounting/auditing body, such as ACCA, is advantageous.

  • Willingness to travel internationally, mainly within Europe; a valid international passport is required.

  • Fluent in English, with experience in English-language working environments.

  • Proficiency in an additional European language (French, Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese) is highly beneficial.

  • Proactive approach and ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong teamwork skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities.

What we offer:

  • Centrally located office in Sofia with flexible home office arrangements when travel isn't required.

  • International professional experience with rapid career growth opportunities and challenging project work.

  • Extensive training resources and excellent opportunities for professional growth worldwide.

  • Supportive, positive, and collaborative work environment.

  • Competitive salary and employee benefits package, including additional medical insurance, meal vouchers, a sports card, and more.
