Benchmark and profile code to identify performance bottlenecks, and make evidence-based decisions about where to optimise

Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to translate business and customer needs into robust technical solutions

Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions, contributing to the team's overall growth and improvement

Be a champion of the YBIYRI ethos (you-build-it-you-run-it), which includes participating in the on-call pager rotation

What You'll Bring:

4-8 years of professional software development experience, ideally including full-stack work with a backend lean

Strong SQL fundamentals; hands-on experience with PostgreSQL ideal

Comfortable working within large, sophisticated, existing codebases and making changes safely

Scripting ability for automation and tooling (language-agnostic)

Experience with Docker or other containerisation technologies

Proven Git proficiency, including collaborative branching workflows

Proficiency in at least one major programming language (such as Ruby, Python, or Java)

Experience testing with RSpec

Preferred Knowledge / Experience:

Experience with, or solid understanding of, AWS

Experience building or maintaining multi-tenant, enterprise SaaS platforms

Senior Software Engineer,

At Ripple, we’re building a world where value moves like information does today. It’s big, it’s bold, and we’re already doing it. Through our crypto solutions for financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers, we are improving the global financial system and creating greater economic fairness and opportunity for more people, in more places around the world. And we get to do the best work of our career and grow our skills surrounded by colleagues who have our backs.

If you’re ready to see your impact and unlock incredible career growth opportunities, join us, and build real world value.

THE WORK:

We seek a Senior Staff Product Manager to lead and develop our Trust Platform — the programmable controls, integrations, and tools that enable our products to function securely and reliably as we grow into more regulated, higher-risk markets such as banks and other regulated entities.

You'll determine what features should be included in the platform and which ones become reusable components other teams can build upon. You will assess how the roadmap stands up to careful examination from regulators, bank diligence teams, and the product teams working on what you develop. You will work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Engineering, maintaining clear responsibility for the product roadmap and decisions.

Why Now?

The regulatory landscape is growing. More jurisdictions, more counterparties, more edge cases — this needs someone thinking ahead of requirements, crafting our posture before it's forced on us.

Trust is a competitive advantage. Our strategy increasingly points at selling into banks and other regulated counterparties, who diligence maturity, auditability, and programmable controls as part of the buying decision. This work helps us secure agreements.

The platform opportunity is genuine and ready to develop. We have reached a stage where this logic should become a configurable core element for other teams to build upon. It involves deciding what is configurable, what forms an API, and the sequencing order. This is a true product invention challenge that requires focused attention.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Own the roadmap for some of our highest-stakes regulatory surfaces. Get ahead of new jurisdictions and requirements. Build something durable enough to hold up to bank-grade diligence.

Define the scope and develop the Trust Platform by deciding which components should be reusable. Identify the initial use case(s). Manage the balance between flexibility and control as other teams build upon it.

Build tooling for information-request and review workflows that scales across product lines, rather than requiring headcount growth to keep pace with volume.

Collaborate across departments with Compliance, Legal, and Engineering to translate regulatory and risk requirements into product decisions.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

5-7 years of experience in fintech, crypto, or another regulated technology space. Significant tenure as a Product Manager, including work at a Staff or Senior Staff level.

A history of developing and expanding platform products — reusable primitives and APIs that other teams rely on.

Experience in compliance, risk, trust and safety, or another high-stakes regulatory domain, with the technical depth to reason about system build and tradeoffs.

Ability to operate independently across a wide collaborator matrix — Compliance, Legal, Engineering, and other product teams — while retaining clear product ownership.

Comfort prioritizing and building something new in a high-ambiguity environment.

If you want to define what a trust and risk platform looks like at scale, we'd love to talk.

THE WORK:

At Ripple, the Customer Onboarding Platform is where every customer’s journey begins — and it’s about to get a full-scale rebuild.

We recently became a horizontal platform team serving all Ripple products. Our next chapter:

Unwinding years of Salesforce-bound logic into modern, engineering-owned backend services.

Integrating best-in-class vendors like Persona for KYC/KYB, while building the surrounding orchestration, data flows, and service layer.

Designing the systems and data model that will make onboarding scalable, observable, and reliable across products.

If you’re a Staff-level engineer who thrives on modernizing fragile systems, building robust services around vendor integrations, and driving architecture at company-wide scale, this is your opportunity.

Why This Role Matters:

Onboarding is where customers form their first impression of Ripple, and where trust is earned. As the technical anchor for a small, high-impact team, you will:

Build for impact – Everything you create will serve multiple Ripple products, from Payments to Custody to Stablecoin.

Start from zero – Design and build new backend services from the ground up to power onboarding across products.

Tackle the hard stuff – Unwind years of technical debt while designing systems built to last.

Shape Ripple’s architecture – Partner with Product, Compliance, and Engineering to influence company-wide technical direction.

Scale the right way – Mentor engineers and grow a high-performing team, with direct executive backing.

This isn’t just about writing code, it’s about designing how Ripple’s onboarding platform will work for years to come.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Lead the design and development of distributed, cloud-native backend services that power onboarding across Ripple’s product suite.

Partner with Product, Compliance, and other engineering teams to design scalable orchestration and data pipelines.

Migrate core onboarding logic out of Salesforce into resilient, observable services and a dedicated persistence layer.

Build platform capabilities that enable faster onboarding with fewer customer touchpoints — while preserving trust and compliance.

Contribute to foundational data modeling work that will feed into Ripple’s future identity platform (while ownership of Identity will move to a dedicated team).

Champion engineering excellence in code quality, testing, and operational practices.

Mentor engineers and help grow a lean, high-impact team.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

Required

Deep backend engineering experience in modern, cloud-native, distributed systems.

Exposure and willingness to frontend frameworks (React, Vue, etc.) for full-stack capability.

Proven track record designing and delivering large-scale systems in complex environments.

Strong API design and integration skills (REST and/or gRPC).

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS).

Comfort navigating and reducing technical debt while delivering business value.

Leadership skills: can set technical direction, mentor others, and influence cross-team decisions.

Preferred (But Not Required)

Experience with our current stack: Java + Spring Boot.

We welcome candidates from other backend stacks (Go, Kotlin, C#, Python, Rust, etc.) who can quickly learn JVM technologies.

Event-driven architecture (Kafka, SNS/SQS, etc.).

Domain knowledge in fintech, regtech, KYC/KYB, identity verification, or compliance-heavy systems.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

Impact: The systems you build will be used across all Ripple products, touching every new customer.

Technical Challenge: You’ll lead a high-leverage migration and design work that matters.

Growth: Opportunity to shape a horizontal platform team from the ground up.

Collaboration: Partner with sharp, motivated colleagues across engineering, product, and compliance.

If you want to help replace a fragile, business-critical system with a scalable platform that will serve every Ripple customer for years to come, we’d love to talk.

Staff Software Engineer

At Ripple, we’re building a world where value moves like information does today. It’s big, it’s bold, and we’re already doing it. Through our crypto solutions for financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers, we are improving the global financial system and creating greater economic fairness and opportunity for more people, in more places around the world. And we get to do the best work of our career and grow our skills surrounded by colleagues who have our backs.

If you’re ready to see your impact and unlock incredible career growth opportunities, join us, and build real world value.

Are you ready to join a dedicated team that is crafting the future of financial technology? At Ripple Labs Inc., we are on a mission to transform manual financial operations into flawless automated systems. As a Software Engineer on the Financial Core team, you'll play a crucial role in building the essential infrastructure that powers Ripple's global custodian network.

THE WORK:

We are the Financial Core team, the platform layer supporting Ripple's products. We manage vital infrastructure for money flow, including asset transfers across Ripple's global custodian network that covers fiat rails and crypto custody. Our responsibilities include settlement automation and liquidity management across many accounts and banking partners. The technology stack uses Java/Spring Boot on the backend, React/TypeScript for internal tools, and Postgres. These are deployed on Kubernetes with built-in observability and approval processes. We collaborate closely with Product Ops and Product to transform manual financial tasks into dependable, auditable, and automated systems.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Develop and deploy backend services and internal tools that automate settlement, funding, and liquidity management workflows

Work directly with Product Ops and Product to understand manual processes and build software that replaces or accelerates them

Contribute across the stack—REST API handlers, database migrations, and React UI components

Participate in on-call rotation and maintain production reliability for financial systems that move money in real time

Write well-tested, reviewable code and contribute to build discussions with your team and cross-functional partners

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

2-5 years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems

Backend experience in at least one language—Java, Go, Python, or TypeScript; comfort with object-oriented development and production-grade codebases

Comfortable contributing across the stack (backend APIs + UI components)

Solid grasp of relational databases, REST API development, and basic distributed systems concepts

Able to read, navigate, and add to existing codebases—not only new projects

Clear communicator with non-engineering partners—operations, finance, and product teams are your collaborators

Uses AI tools (Claude, Copilot, Cursor, etc.) actively as a core part of writing, reviewing, and debugging code. These tools are not a novelty but a genuine accelerant

Experience with financial systems, payments, or operations automation workflows

Familiarity with Spring Boot, Postgres, React

Experience crafting or deploying agentic systems—closed-loop automation that runs without a human in the critical path (approval workflows, reconciliation pipelines, event-driven monitoring)

If you’re ready to see your impact and unlock incredible career growth opportunities, join us, and build real world value.

The mission, should you choose to accept it, is to pioneer and scale Ripple Treasury's liquidity platform into the future. If you enjoy solving complex business problems in a fast-paced, collaborative, and iterative environment this might be the right role for you!

We are seeking an innovative and forward-thinking Staff Software Developer passionate about building a world-class platform through a world-class team. Creating technical software excellence and spearheading application development in design, implementation, and maintenance to make magic happen.

About the Liquidity Management Team

The Liquidity Management team is at the forefront of a major modernization initiative, reimagining how enterprise treasury teams manage liquidity across a global landscape.

We're not just maintaining what exists — we're rebuilding from the ground up with a bold vision: a modern, intuitive user experience with fast, streamlined workflows that make complex treasury operations feel effortless; a cloud-native architecture built on the latest technologies, designed for scalability, resilience, and speed; and first-class support for both traditional fiat currencies and digital assets, positioning Ripple Treasury at the leading edge of where treasury is headed.

What You’ll Do – Be a Force Multiplier:

Technical Leadership & Architecture:

Drive architectural decisions for the platform, balancing scalability, maintainability, and rapid deployment goals

Establish technical standards and design patterns that enable the team to ship features faster with fewer defects

Enhance Agility:

Drive adoption of modern engineering practices that improve developer experience and productivity

Lead post-mortems and blameless retrospectives that turn incidents into learning opportunities

Strategic Technical Vision:

Anticipate future scalability challenges before they become blockers (e.g., handling 10x growth in transaction volume)

Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend when/how to adopt them (e.g., new ML frameworks, database technologies)

Balance technical excellence with pragmatic delivery, knowing when "good enough now" beats "perfect later"

Ownership & Accountability:

Own critical systems end-to-end, from design through production support

Take responsibility for production reliability and proactively prevent incidents

Step into ambiguous situations and drive them to resolution without needing explicit direction

Lead by example in code quality, documentation, and operational excellence

Make tough technical trade-off decisions and clearly communicate the reasoning

What You’ll Work On:

Core platform modernization — the team is rebuilding the platform from the ground up: a modern, intuitive UX with fast workflows, and a cloud-native architecture designed for scalability, resilience, and speed

Real-time cash/liquidity data pipelines — building systems that give treasury professionals real-time transparency into cash and liquidity positions across banks, accounts, currencies, and legal entities worldwide

Digital asset support — engineering first-class support for both traditional fiat currencies and digital assets as part of the platform's forward-looking vision

AI features — developing and optimizing machine learning models for the GSmart AI engine that predicts cash flows and enables businesses to balance accounts in real time while making complex funding decisions

Essential Knowledge / Experience:

Years & Scope:

8+ years of professional software engineering experience

3+ years working on complex, business-critical systems in production

Experience working on products with significant scale

Strong communication skills with experience working in cross functional projects

Track record of delivering projects that span multiple quarters and require coordination across teams

Technical Leadership:

Led technical designs that were implemented by teams of 3+ engineers

Made architectural decisions that had lasting impact on system capabilities

Established technical patterns that were adopted across the team

Cloud & Infrastructure:

Proficiency with at least one major cloud platform (preferably Azure)

Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)

Understanding of infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipeline design

Core Technologies:

Deep expertise with C#/.NET

Expert in relational databases (SQL Server ideally), including query optimization, indexing strategies, and data modeling

Deep experience in building large scale multi-tenant enterprise applications

Staff Software Engineer, Cash Forecasting

At Ripple, we’re building a world where value moves like information does today. It’s big, it’s bold, and we’re already doing it. Through our crypto solutions for financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers, we are improving the global financial system and creating greater economic fairness and opportunity for more people, in more places around the world. And we get to do the best work of our career and grow our skills surrounded by colleagues who have our backs.

If you’re ready to see your impact and unlock incredible career growth opportunities, join us, and build real world value.

THE WORK:

Ripple is building the Internet of Value: infrastructure that moves money as fast as information moves today. Every payment that flows across our network passes through real-time financial crimes controls: sanctions screening, wallet risk analysis, transaction monitoring, and travel rule compliance. The Financial Crimes Engineering team builds and operates that layer.

This is the engineering that determines whether payments clear or hold, whether Ripple meets its regulatory obligations across jurisdictions, and whether the network can scale without compromising on compliance. The problem space is genuinely hard: high-throughput distributed systems, real-time decisioning, multi-source coordination across external compliance data providers, regulator-grade audit trails, and resilience.

As a Senior Staff Software Engineer on this team, you will set the multi-year technical direction for the compliance control plane and drive its adoption beyond your own team. You will own the architecture of the vendor-agnostic, resilient, provable system that lets Ripple move value without moving financial crime, and you will shape how compliance engineering works across the company. This is a role for someone who defines which problems the organization solves, not only how they get solved: you will set the technical strategy other teams build against, establish the patterns that become organizational standards, and serve as the senior-most engineering voice on how regulatory obligations become durable infrastructure.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Own the multi-year architectural vision for the compliance control plane: real-time screening orchestration, the resilience and observability layer, vendor-agnostic integration, and the decision and data plane, sequenced against where Ripple's products and regulatory surface will be in three years, not where they are today

Drive the hardest, highest-ambiguity technical problems end to end: multi-vendor failover, sub-second decisioning under load, regulator-grade auditability, and resilience across partial dependency failures

Set technical direction that extends beyond FinCrimes: define the integration contracts, resilience patterns, and compliance primitives that partner engineering teams adopt, and drive alignment across organizational boundaries where no single team owns the outcome

Translate evolving regulatory obligations and organizational goals into durable engineering primitives and a sequenced technical roadmap, and influence what the organization invests in to get there

Anticipate platform risks and scaling constraints years before they become incidents, and lead the initiatives that address them

Partner directly with executive leadership across Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Product to shape how regulatory requirements become engineering reality, and represent the platform's technical position to auditors, regulators, and external partners

Set standards for production ownership across the team and beyond: observability, alerting, incident response, and the reliability bar that other teams calibrate against

Multiply the technical capability of the organization: mentor staff and senior engineers, elevate design quality through architecture review, and raise the ceiling of what the team can take on

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

12+ years building production backend systems, with deep expertise in Java (or comparable JVM languages, Go, Rust)

A track record of owning architecture for complex distributed systems at scale across multiple teams or organizations, defining the designs that others build against and that outlast your involvement

Demonstrated ability to set technical direction at the organizational level and drive adoption of standards and patterns across team boundaries without formal authority

Strong resilience and distributed-systems design instincts: failover, graceful degradation, idempotency, high-throughput real-time decisioning, and designing systems that survive the failure of dependencies you do not control

Excellent API design judgment (REST/gRPC) and a history of establishing patterns that become organizational defaults

Proven skill navigating ambiguity in a regulated environment, turning regulator findings, audit obligations, and partner asks into shippable, durable engineering plans, and defending those decisions to auditors and examiners

Working knowledge of Kubernetes, observability tooling (Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar), and cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)

A track record of developing senior and staff engineers and measurably lifting the technical bar of an organization

Experience in fintech, payments, identity, or compliance technology is a strong plus, though exceptional systems architects from adjacent high-stakes domains are welcome

WHY THIS ROLE

Consequence: your architecture decides whether real payments clear, in real time, for real customers.

Ownership beyond the platform: you are not owning a service or even a system, you are shaping the compliance control plane that every Ripple product depends on and the standards that partner teams build to.

Building the next generation: we are actively designing the vendor-agnostic, resilient compliance platform built to scale across new jurisdictions and product surfaces. This is the person who leads that design and sets its direction for the next several years.

Executive-level influence: you will work directly with senior leaders across Engineering, Compliance, Legal, and Product. The job is technical, but the influence is organizational.

Technical leadership without leaving the code: the senior-most IC voice on a team where the engineering genuinely matters.
