Some Greenhouse forms email you a code after you press Submit, and your application is not sent until you enter it. Greenhouse uses it to check that a person, not a bot, is applying. Here is what to do.
Greenhouse protects job boards from spam, and each company sets how strict that protection is on its own job board. Greenhouse says a candidate "may be asked to verify their email before submitting their application".
Stricter settings ask more people to verify, so you may see the code step on one company's form and not on another's.
On the Greenhouse posting we checked in September 2026, the page said: "A verification code was sent to [your email]. To submit your application, enter the 8-character code to confirm you're a human."
The email's subject was "Security code for your application to [company]", sent from no-reply@us.greenhouse-mail.io. Greenhouse lists that address as one of its own.
Open the email, type the code into the boxes on the form, then press Submit again. Your application is sent only after that second Submit.
Each time you press Submit without a code, Greenhouse sends a new one, and an older code shows "Incorrect security code". Use the code from the newest email.
Check your spam folder. Then check that the email address on the form is spelled correctly: the code goes to that address.
If it still doesn't come, contact the company you are applying to. Greenhouse says its support team can't contact recruiters for you.
